How many of us get that feeling that MAYBE we shouldn’t engage in a certain activity? Or go down a path that is dimly lit? That little voice in our head or little pulling in our stomach prohibits us from doing certain things. That is our gut instinct. It’s a warning. An indicator that something terrible might happen if we decide to aboard on that airplane or get into a car with strangers. There are numerous of stories online from people who had an intense gut feeling that something seemed off about their plans or about certain people they were with. Others…. were unfortunately not too lucky. But we hear about their unsettling feelings before they met their fateful end from close friends/relatives they’ve spoken with prior to the event. That is why we must pay attention to our intuition. Ignoring it can negatively affect our life course.
Intuition
When our intuition is sparking inside of us, most of us try to suppress the urgency. Our intuition can be felt stronger in certain places and/or around certain people.
Let’s take a male stranger for an example.
This stranger is charming and very flattering. He appears or presents himself to be quite the gentleman. However, there is a sense that something is slightly off. There is more to him than what he is letting on.
That intuition starts to send off signals when he starts becoming a little too pushy. He wants to take us home or take us to a party that is going on nearby. His offer is declined each time. Finally, he stopped asking. Separate ways we go. Soon enough, there are reports that a brutal rape took place around the same area y’all were at earlier. It was at an abandoned alley. The perpetrator’s face is all over the media. It was the same guy! How scary, eerie and unfortunate. But at the same time, our intuition knew that something was weird about him. He was just too nice. Women can also be devious in that same instance. No one is exempt. Choose wisely.
I also wrote about issues that we should watch out for in Genuine or Deceptive and what we can do to avoid ever being put in such predicaments. Feel free to check it out.
God has a way of warning us before we engage in a dangerous activity. It is up to us if we take heed or we learn the hard way.
In God’s Existence and The Essence of Life, I covered a specific section that relates to disorder in our lives. If we keep ignoring the Lord’s SOS calls, the severity of it will escalate.
I have a story in particular that I will share with y’all but that will be at a later time. Have I listened to my intuition and not ignore the red flags, I could’ve avoided that incident altogether. But we all want something to turn out for the better so that is why we push through – even when the red flags are present. Being stubborn like that can get us traumatized, injured and/or killed. And it’s also equally as important to weigh out our options before we make a final decision.
Dreams
Sometimes our warnings are foretold in our dreams. Sometimes the warning comes days in advance. It is up to us to decipher its meaning and pray about the message for clarifications. Dreams that almost seem “too real” are dreams we should take seriously. Especially if it was a dream that seemed different than all of the other dreams we had in the past. Yes, we all have nightmares but it is much more than that.
I remember I had a dream about snakes. The aftermath – drenched in sweat, woke up clawing at my face and frantically panting. That dream shook me to the core because I never had a dream like that. EVER. However, the snakes that were launching towards my family (mom and brother) and I were all killed by yours truly! I grabbed them one by one and I cut off their heads with scissors. These snakes came in ALL sizes. There were several of them. All colors. This took place in a big house. I read about this online and they have all sorts of explanations for them.
This dream meant that I will have victory over my enemies. There may be some afflictions that will test my faith in the Lord or I may have contact with my enemies (snake bites) but the Lord will bless me with grace to endure them. I will come out victorious on the other side. My adversaries were big and small alike, but one by one I destroyed their attempts when they tried to kill me or my family. To reiterate, the snakes that did launch at us were able to sink their teeth into my arms before they were killed. To me, it signifies that my enemies might’ve been able to get close enough to try to inflict damage but they were terminated before the damage became excessive.
I had another snake dream… maybe a few months after this one. I wrote snippets of it down in my notes so I won’t forget.
There were 4 snakes in total – 3 small and one big. They were either light green and/or brown colored. They bit me on my stomach, finger, etc. I killed 3 of them in a house – again. But, the last remaining snake escaped. I came inside a room, looking for it. I found it and hit it on the head repeatedly but it kept rising. It was throwing up a brown substance that I couldn’t make out – maybe from me hitting it on the head so hard. I was able to grab this snake by the neck and surprisingly, my siblings were there! I told my sister to hold its head and my brother to hold the body steady- to stretch it out. Then with a board, I cut the head off. Check me out! Warrior Steph to the rescue – with the help/protection of my good Lord of course.
These kind of dreams mean something and we should meditate on them. I believe that these dreams are indicators of me beating my afflictions and coming out triumphant in the end. My faith and my victory is in the Lord. Because let me tell you!
There is NO WAY on God’s green Earth that I will ever pick up a snake with my bare hand and cut off its head with scissors! IMPOSSIBLE. I cannot even look at them. That power to be able to face them and shield my family from them, came from the LORD HIMSELF. Believe me y’all. I will be catching a flight and be halfway to the other side of the globe if I ever see a snake in my presence. On top of that, these dreams came after I was fasting for the Lord. It was telling. I never had dreams like that before. I will always remember them because they definitely stood out to the thousands of dreams I had in the past.
Even though my dreams are slightly off topic, I brought it up because these are messages that deals with warning signs that I must be aware about in my physical existence. It is a heads up for my afflictions yet to come (if they even come at all because they were all destroyed) and I must prepare myself spiritually, mentally, physically, and emotionally. Nevertheless, I have to be cautious about people I associate myself with and analyze the actions taken by everyone I come across in life. It could be that the snakes that did get close enough to bite me were people in my inner circle.
My friends, our adversaries are not only made up of enemies. It could also be people we thought were true to us. Moreover, dreams are helpful but we must be able to discern them from nightmares. Have y’all ever had a dream like that? Let me know!
Conclusion
Our intuition never lies. Our gut instinct should not be ignored. Pay attention. If we’re uneasy about a certain trip, person, or place, we should listen to our gut instinct. Our gut instinct is not warning us for no reason. The hair on the back of our necks and arms are not standing up for no reason. Our fight or flight response is not firing up randomly because it feels like it. These are all signs. Just because we don’t feel in danger at that very moment or we rather overlook questionable things that we witness, does not mean we shouldn’t be wary of these signs regardless. So basically, go through his phone sis. He’s hiding something. (Just for laughs).
