Sinful Nature

If you are a human being, you automatically have a sinful nature.

Sorry y’all, I hate to be the barrier of bad news. Why do we have a sinful nature? Well, because of the spiritual separation between Adam and God. The cause of our fallen human nature is no other than Satan himself. Satan and his deceiving nature, disguised as a serpent, fooled Eve (first woman created by God) into eating from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil and then offered the fruit to Adam. Adam, being the first human ever created by God, willingly disobeyed God by eating a fruit from the forbidden tree. Disobeying the Lord’s command resulted in Adam and Eve being banished from the Garden of Eden. As a result, sin and Death entered the world. (If anyone would like an elaboration of this story to truly understand its impact, feel free to email me).

Spiritual Death

Adam and Eve’s disobedience to God lead to a physical death and more importantly, a spiritual death. For all of mankind. Everyone is to die a physical death ONCE but to die without knowing the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, that is eternal damnation and the SECOND death. This time, a spiritual death of the soul. Without further ado, let’s dive right in!

Side note : I spoke briefly about our fallen nature in The Essence of Life and God’s Existence. If you would like to check it out, these two blogs encompasses a summary about life and why sin is so rampant in today’s society.

Eternal Damnation

What is eternal damnation? Hmmmm. Well, for starters, if we live our physical life without making Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, we will suffer a second death – thus leading to eternal damnation in Hell. To be truthful, reading the Bible is an eye opening experience. The realization of what is to come without God is extremely frightening. Prophecies regarding the End Times can make anyone feel uncomfortable or ecstatic – depending on your beliefs. The thought of burning 24/7 for the rest of eternity without any BREAKS in between is horrifying. Just pure suffering and agony. This final act is FOREVER.

No rest.

No water.

Intense heat and burning. Cries of help going unanswered. Surrounded by damned souls. Take the worst pain you can possibly think of and amplify that by infinity and Hell STILL wouldn’t come close to that kind of torture. Hell is on another league. Incomprehensible.

My friends, if we do not resolve our sinful nature during our physical life, there is no chance for God to save us in our spiritual life. If we choose to believe that there is no God or to not believe in Jesus Christ to redeem us from sin, the result is penalizing. There is no redo in life. We cannot hope for another chance at life (Reincarnation). Please, for your sake, seek the Lord while you are young. Tomorrow is not promised. Our life is finite.

I would like nothing more than for us to be saved. We all inherit a sinful nature from Adam and it is up to us to find our way back to the Lord. You see, we all have choices – options to choose from. The Lord blessed us with free will. It is either we seek fellowship with Him or not. Either way, we have to live with the consequences – good or bad. If we choose to remain in our sinful nature and deny God’s Existence, that is something we must live with. Now, it is very much possible to live a great physical life without God. Yes, people can live a lavish lifestyle and blaspheme God if he/she chooses to. BUT, this physical life is temporal. Our spiritual existence is for eternity. We can be millionaires on Earth without ever wanting to know God. It’s possible.

Is it worth it to have the whole world but to lose our soul in the process? I would hope we all said no.

Hmm.. Fear not. The Lord already provided us with several ways to get near Him. The Bible, Church, Pastors, testimonials from people who were/are saved, etc. But best of all – PRAYER. We can literally reach out to Him personally by praying to Him. That is the ultimate gift. When we’re going through tough times, our heart is open to receiving the Lord when we pray to Him. God does NOT want us to perish. That is why He sent His only begotten Son Jesus Christ to save us from eternal damnation – whoever should believe in Him, will have everlasting life. But at the same time, God will not force us to choose Him. The choice is solely ours to make.

Also, it is not enough to be a “good person.” We also have to walk with God. Strengthen our faith in Him. Ask for forgiveness and confess our sins to Him. It is not enough to treat people nicely, give to charity, have integrity, lend a helping hand to our friends/family, etc. Yes, those are commendable acts of kindness but we must confess with our mouths that Jesus Christ is Lord my friends.

Question

If we had the opportunity to see how we lived our lives through a telescope and witness everything that we did, would we be ashamed or satisfied? Would we even want that kind of opportunity to be presented to us? I’ll be honest, I’d be cringing the entire time. I would feel sorrowful because I know I hurt some people in my past. I know I have done things that I am not proud of. There were series of bad things that were happening to me on a consistent basis that led me to find God. I figured He was mad at me because of my decisions. I was right. But now, I am thankful that I know Him and I have peace in my soul. By no means am I perfect or a saint, but I am continuously being sanctified by the Lord and He has shown me grace.

What are changes that you would like to incorporate in your life today? Let me know!

Forgiveness

Now, I’m not saying that after we accept Jesus Christ, that our lives will only be positive and sin free. That couldn’t be further from the truth! Satan will still try to bring us back to our sinful nature/ways. But, seeking forgiveness from the Lord is a great start. For one, our sins, if we confess them to the Lord, are forgiven! Right at that very moment. What we did, will be forgotten/ignored because of the Lord’s righteousness. The Lord will still continue to sanctify/purify us as we continue to walk with Him. Yes, temptation will be aggressive and we’ll succumb to it, but we must always find our way back to Him. Following the Lord, does not exempt us from sinning. However, the Lord is progressively purifying us for the remainder of our physical existence. We will not be tempted to sin overtime. The desire will decrease.

Near Death Experiences

My lovely readers, I came across an amazing article about people in their dying moments – basically on their death beds. If you would like to check out the article – https://bibleguidance.co.za/Engarticles/Deathbed.htm.

These near death experiences will either scare you s***less or make you rejoice. There is one story about a man who goes by the name of David Appleby. As he was nearing the end, he saw a vision.

“They are calling, calling, calling there in Heaven! I didn’t know it could be so beautiful. All is well with my soul!”

Isn’t that is a nice, peaceful way to go out? Here comes the scary one.

An Agnostic. He firmly resisted the Holy Spirit till the very end. He died at the age of 74. On his death bed, the man is crying out so bitterly. “Oh God, deliver me from that awful pit! I am in the flames – pull me out, pull me out!” My friends, before he died, he felt the flames in his physical form. LITERALLY.

Conclusion

Bottom line – Letting our sinful nature go unchecked may not penalize us in our physical life, but it will surely get us in our spiritual one. Choose wisely. I tell you all of this to warn you and invite you to make Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior. I will never try to deceive you in any way, shape or form. All that I type in my blogs are meant to be beneficial for anyone willing to read them. These blogs are meant to help you enlighten your spiritual side and to increase your discerning capabilities.
